Mike Stump Mike Stump has over 30 years of leadership experience in human resourc- es and applies the industry knowledge he’s gained as a Career Coach in the Eastin Center for Career Readiness at the Spears School of Business at Oklahoma State University. In this role, he connects with and supports Spears students and provides them with guidance as they strive to achieve their ca- reer goals. Mike enjoys being able to give back and invest his time coaching the next generation of business leaders. Before joining OSU, Mike worked as a full-time corporate HR leader for several Fortune 500 companies including Rubbermaid and Ditch Witch. As an HR professional, he specialized in the areas of employee relations, talent acquisition, performance management, talent development, organizational development, and human capital management systems. Mike has specialized expertise in behavioral interviewing and targeted selection and has trained over 250 managers in these concepts. He has supported internal business clients with these specializations in manufacturing, energy, and retail indus- tries. Mike also has experience providing external consulting in the areas of talent acquisition and talent development and human resources practices in the banking industry. Throughout his 30 years of leadership experience, he has led both small and large teams of employees while in human resources and operations func- tions. He has gained first-hand knowledge in several areas including building high-functioning teams, employee development, and performance manage- ment. Mike graduated from Oklahoma State with his bachelor’s degree in human resources management and obtained SHRM – SPHR accreditation in 1990. In his spare time, he and his wife enjoy spending lots of time with their two grandkids along with cheering in the stands at most OSU sporting events.
